ok, here is the problem, my 84 bronco with carbed 351w runs great for about five to ten min until it gets up to temp and then dies. i talked to some people and i have heard that a clogged exhaust can suffocate the engine and make it die, it has two inline cats on it and as far as i know they are oem. i would take them loose to check for myself but, alas they are welded on. the question is how likely is it that they are my problem?
I have a buddy who had an 80s dodge with a 4 banger, and the cat got clogged. the engine got so hot it cracked the head, so you should check it out as soon as possible. I hate driving my truck when i think there might be something wrong with it
i am the same way, since my entire exhaust system is welded up, i was thinkin about unbolting it from the header and ramming a coat hanger down in there to see if i couldnt break somthin loose. what would happen if the thermostat i put in is too low a temp?
