I have a 1978 F250 4x4 with a 400 v8, 2150 motocraft 2bb carb.
The old carb needed rebuilt, while I was waiting I came across a 2150 motorcratf on ebay. Bought it, said it would fit a 77-79 400 v8 truck.
The carb spacer has some type of nipple or tube comming out the front of spacer that my old spacer did not have, what should be hooked up here or should I plug it with a rubber cap. Secondly there is no nipple or vacuum tube at the back of the carb for the PCV tube that comes of the oil filler cap. My old carb has nipple or tube that was conneted to the pvc valve. Where should I connect the pvc valve or do I really need to connect it to any thing, can I run it through the Air filter, there is a black rubber plug on the side of the air filter housing. need help thanks.
The pcv valve line needs to be hooked to manifold vacuum, that should be the line on the spacer. NOTE I said should! Check by looking where the tube on spacer goes- manifold vacuum will be open to the bottom of spacer and into the intake manifold.
Yes, the pcv valve needs to be hooked up. It helps keep your engine clean internally.
