Why does it always seem to be the same people who are willing to try to grind someone into dust? Does it make them feel big? Does it make them feel smart? Does it make them feel important?
They say things on this forum that would get them punched in the mouth if they were face to face. Do they feel like they don't have to show any consideration for others from the safety of their home?
Why can't they let others do what they want without starting the same war again and again?
Some people make me and a lot of others sick because of their lack of conscience.
Bob, I hope you're not referring to me. I was trying to clarify some points in a matter of fact manner. I think there was an "offensive" that unfortunately left an invitation for some of the posts. I would not post anything on this site that I wouldn't say to someone in person. Sorry if anyone was offended.

very careful.... bashin the oil in a guys truck is the same as callin him a sucker or a moron.
i take no offense, but please ease up on me. i kinda like my amway-oil
This is MY POST
"OK it seems we are approaching that point in an OIL thread that folks take things a bit personal (imagine that and in an oil thread to boot)....... lets be careful.
Thanks guys..........."
I am not sure where you read into this post that I was bashing you or anyone. Nor did I even come close to calling you or anyone a sucker or moron NOWHERE.
Word of warning, no more being nice on my part… it starts, I will close it.
I am fed up with this, one-person caring what the other persons writes about oil. Every oil thread ends up in me, trying to calm it down.
This is not directed at Big only…. it is to all who cannot accept the views/choices/opinions of others concerning OIL!
NO MORE

Hey guys thanks for all your information, didn't mean to start a war!!!!!! Got the gear change done yesterday and will give the Amsoil a try. My warranty is allready void anyway with a 12 inch lift and 24.5's. On the back of my Amsoil bottle it looks like it might be rated. It says API MT-1. Don't know what this means, anyway thanks for your help.......Homey

Hey back! You didn't start nothin. There are a few on this forum with strong opinions that can't leave others be. You just threw a bone in a pack of rabid dogs.

You are more than welcome!
On some days, that seems more relevant a statement than other days
the old boss's race car ruined a set of gears every 2 weeks. didnt matter how i set it up. he never wanted to spend the $$$ on syn.
i got sick of settin up the same 9", and bought it myself and didnt tell him. problem solved....and i got a raise for "fixin" it....told him after the raise.
try it, it cant hurt.
P.S. if u like amsoil, dont pay any attention to the "naysayers" who think u need a little symbol on the can for it to work. ive used amsoil in all i own for many years, and its never let me down. label or not......go w/ what u like
Do you run the Amsoil 15w40 in your truck now? I take it by your comments you trust it pretty well. I am going to start the TT motor for the first time on synthetic, and thought the Amsoil would be a great choice, escpecially considering I wont have a warranty to worry with. That friggen motor is gonna be about 3 down from the top of the list of things i would DIE to protect...want the best protection for it I can get.

I don't use it, but check this out. It has to be better than
Amsoil, and it's a FTE sponser:

i use 5w-30 heavy duty diesel oil. most of the guys i know around here using their trucks for hot shot hauling like mine use either the 5w-30 or 15w-40 amsoil. when i put motorcraft 15w-40 in mine, i lost 1.5-2 mpg from the 10w-30. i gained about 2-3 when i put in the 5w-30 and unplugged the egr. and it runs smoother and doesnt smoke at startup any more. its definately a good choice. but UR CHOICE!!!! (my disclaimer)
psd, i suggest using a good parafin based oil to break the engine in. (pennzoil, wolfs head, exxon super-flo) if the engine is not run before u get it, run it around 2000rpm up and down for 30-45 min. then shut it down and change the oil. run it for a while on the dino oil, and when ur sure it doesnt use any anymore(be really sure), then switch 'er over to syn. they say the 5w-30 outperforms all conventional 15w-40's, but believe what u want.....
this is what i do w/ all my tractors i build. sometimes i use amsoil, sometimes cen-pe-co. depends whether it will farm or not.
