LOL.......with that kind on miles it will be easier to tell you what few problems you wont run into.

Seriously though the truck is worth about $3000.

Really I thought it would be worth more than that just because it is a powerstroke and fourwheel drive did I mention it was a crewcab loaded. how many miles are these trucks lasting?

sounds like a pretty good deal to me... my '96 x-cab 4x4 with 171,000 could fetch around $10 or 11k... i'd go for it if it has been well maintained... test drive to see if the tranny slips or has been rebuilt, and check sca's in the coolant... could run into a bunch of problems, but maybe not. i've heard of a couple that are already past 500,000 miles and still going strong

Mine is worth $14,165 according to Kelley Blue Book.

Mine is a 95 2wheel drive extended cab long bed 5 speed with a cap and Kelley dealer price is $10,735. Kelley private seller price $8,340. 4x4 adds about $3,000 or so. It would take more than any of these to get it out of my driveway.

Actually it seems like a decent deal if the truck is as nice as it sounds.

I could probably turn a $2-3K profit on it here.

I agree with 6.0l diesel, $3000 is about right. Last month I purchased a 96 xlt powerstroke auto 4x4 RUST FREE 137,000 miles reg cab, for only $2998. This was at a Ford dealership, not a private party. Sure I had to completely rebuild the front end and replace the glow plugs, $600 bucks roughly, but I did the work myself. They had just took the truck in on trade and didn't want to mess with it.
I'll sell the little honey for $10,000. That should be cheap enough. I quess the truck market sure varies alot depending on your location.

I think it worth more than 3K. Go by the KK Blue Book. Thing to look out for are front end problems, tranny, esp. front drive. Over all condition too, of course. Bought my 97 350 last Nov with 209K mile for 8k. Blue Book at the time was 11k. The diesel engine is worth around 3 to 4k more.

I bought my 97 PSD 4x4 extra cab for $8900. 230K miles. Had to put a tranny in it (1800 for tranny, cooler, and billet t/c ). I looked for the exact configuration of my truck for about 8 months. I found them from $6K (junk) up to $15K (too much bling).
I still need to make some minor repairs but I am very happy with my truck and I would do it again.
Next time anyone finds a 7.3 truck for $3k, give me a call. I'll sell something quick.
