I installed 6 by 9s in my front doors on my 98 F150 (power windows) and after everything was said and done, I put the window down in it nailed the magnet on my speaker. Just a warning to anyone who is thinking about installing speakers in the front since it's a much discussed topic.
yeah, they're 6x8. But lots of people in this forum talk about putting in 6x9s by cutting out a bigger hole. I'm warning those people to take caution. I fit 6x9s in my rear slots without even cutting the metal. But the fronts pose a different situation with the window and all.
You maybe able to shift the speaker over (by making the hole bigger) away from the window. I have 6x8's but I put those foam baffles in the hole and thought I was going to have a problem with the window. There was plenty of space and those baffles are big, so I'm not sure why you had the problem. Unless you got 6x9's with HUGE magnets?
yeah, the mags are quite big. It's crazy because I didn't even cut a hole in the metal so they were jutting out like an inch and a half and they STILL hit the window. I was ****ed too cause it smeared my tint all up on the bottom of the window.
