Remote Start With AIC

I am looking into a remote start for my 04 f250 fx4 psd. I have looked at several, but they do not seem to have the auxillary idle control (AIC). I would love to start the truck from inside the house and also want to leave the truck on for 20 min or more. I take my dog all the time and I leave him in the truck. It gets hot (above 100) and need to leave the air running.

I know a lot of these remote starts have a turbo cooler (even in infinate run mode), but none state that they increase rpm to avoid wet stacking. Do they make a product that has remote start AND AIC?

Any ideas?

YES!! I was going to post the same question. I also would be interested in the same. Needs to be able to raise idle if possible...is this a pipe dream or what?

I'm not real knowledgeable on this wet stacking uissue...
but I do this all the time with my remote start --- not for my dog, but for ME !!!
I LIKE it cool when I get in there...

Don't know how wet stacking is supposed to hurt you, but I have 30k+ and my Ex runs like a scalded ape :-)

The real issue I have with the remote start and idling all the time is that mpg calculator...

if you're going 0 miles and burning a gallon....well 0 divided by anything is a VERY small number ---- like ZERO MPG

wet-stacking is when a diesel idles, it cools down to a point that the internals are actually below operating temp and fuel isnt burned effectively. causing fuel on the cyl walls, and scuffing from the "washing" of the cyl walls. it also causes a layer of black "goop" to form in the combustion chamber acting as a heat sinc, further cooling the parts.

not a deal in our 6.0's with all the crap they have to turn, especially with the a/c on in the heat. but i guess if u let it run an hour, u'd be lookin for trouble

I thought that the PSD has an idle control in it already to prevent "wet stacking"?
not to be confused with the auxillary idle control for running a pto, etc.

it kicks it up a few hundred rpm, but that doesnt do much. its only purpose at best is camshaft lubrication

my 550 doesnt do it tho....

That is the reason that all trucks use the radiator blocks while parked....correct, they have a wet stacking issue more than we do...

ya, waaaay morre than we do.

we tested it on a 60series on the dyno in college, and after 25 min at idle, the exhaust was cool enough to hold onto. and the water temp had dropped to 110.

they just dont need much fuel to keep idling. no fire makes no heat. and they are so effecient anyway

Zenitram, I couldn't figure out from your post is you were looking for a remote start to work with your existing factory AIC, or that your truck did not have an AIC and you wanted a remote start to offer the same function.

If you have a factory AIC, you can program it for automatic operation of RPM control. This automatic RPM control will only work with automatic transmissions and if the parking brake is set. This function would allow the truck to enter the set RPM level a few seconds after the conditions are met (ie.: truck started via remote start). In the winter I would not want the truck to immediately go to high idle since the oil would not be warmed up yet. There is a provision for remote activation of the RPM control on the factory AIC. This is intended for a remote switch located on the vehicle. I am looking into if I can activate this with the extra circuit on the remote start module (ie.: trunk release or panic button). This would allow me to remote start my vehicle when cold, let it idle normally for a few minutes, then push another button on the remote start key fob to activate the high idle.

I do not have the factory AIC, but wanted an all-inclusive product that would allow me to do exactly what you stated.

Be able to start the truck remotely, then activate the AIC to increase rpm to avoid wet stacking.

Is this too much to ask?

Remote starts are cheap (usually less than $100), BUT the AIC seems to be more expensive ($400 and up) . Is there a reason for this?
