'42-'47 Bed Interchange Q's

I read in a post that the '42-'47 boxes were the same as the later year pickups? if so,does anyone know if the box (besides fenders) is exactly the same, if so, up to what years interchange? I'm not concerned with where the fender holes are, I can fill'em and make new ones.

Also, how about the tail gates? Are '42-'47 specific, or are the later years the same?

I really gotta get out to some show's this summer

I've seen the repro beds, but for the price of them, I could buy a solid running '51 etc,

Thanks

Mike

As I recall the boxes are the same '42 thru mid-50 when the sides were flattened and the stake pockets were squared off. Tailgate changed then too.

Welcome to FTE, 3Mike6!!
Check out Mac's (one of the sponsors located at the top of the page) it will give the different beds and you can compare them. Hope this helps.
