I purchased an H/X kit from Diesel Manor, as the instructions for installing it seemed pretty straightforward, i.e., remove a couple of plugs, install fittings in the holes, and attach the hose to the fittings. The problem is, there is an oil line connected to the hole on the driver's side where the H/X fitting is supposed to go. I emailed Diesel Manor and they said I should disconnect this line and attach it to the next hole towards the front of the engine. They provided an extra fitting for this purpose.
To do this, the hose will have to be bent, to some degree, back towards the front of the vehicle since it will now be too long. Is this a good idea? Does anybody see a problem? I have a 1996 PSD. Is this common to that particular year? Thanks for your help.
I got mine from Dale Isley at TYMAR and that's the way mine went in, been in about a 8 months no problems, but it is one of the things I check on a regular schedule.
Do a search in this forum (H/X croosover, H/X Kit) there are some pics in someones gallery, i dont rember whos but look through the threads and you will find it.
I was also told that it was a good idea to get the RED urethane o-rings(less chance of leaking at high temps).
Sorry i couldnt help more, good luck.
