Has anyone done any work with "Marbelized" paint-I saw a bike that I really like the look-my original plan was to use a silver base coat with a wineberry candy topcoat.Just a plain burgendy candy was what I was shooting for-the question is: after the silver base coats dry, can I shoot a black pearl wet base coat and while it is wet do the saran wrap thing on the black pearl so when I pull it off you get the veining effect with the silver showing through?
I am using PPG paints the DBU/DBC line-do I need special paint or procedures to accomplish the Marble thing? I'm all ears
There may have been an article on this in one of the last few Air Brush
magazines. Most art supply stores carry them. There are probably some
air brush forums on the web with discussions of marbelizing. I think
the airbrush garus' kind of started this with their search for extreme
effects on motorcycle gas tanks and fenders. I have just seen it in
pictures but it looks like a great effect. Let us know how it goes.
house of kolor makes marbelizer. i got a pin stripped flame design on my truck right now and i am thinking about having it painted on and marbelized. maybe start out in blue marbel and fade to purple. so my advice would be to check with house of kolor. they can help you out on it. i think they even put out books. Eastwoodcompany.com sells the paint.
