I have a 94 f150 W/ E4od trany and was thinking about a change out of my TB. Would a 5.0L double barrel TB fit and what would I have to do other than a change out? What size would be best (51 MM or bigger)?
Also I am looking at 19# injectors with a fuel regulator change. What pressure should it be set at? If I did all this would I need a programed chip?
Also I'm under the understanding that you can't put a longer duration cam on a EFI engine the computer can't handle it, is that right?
The throttle body will only change the relation of airflow to pedal position, meaning the feel will be more responsive at first compared to the old one, but you'll get used to it.The OEM TB is plenty.
Plus the intake matches the size of the OEM TB, so it would need bored out to match the 50MMx2
I've been running a V-8 TB for awhile, but it doesn't offer any topend benefit.
From about 75% to full throttle, you really notice no difference.
You shouldn't need a chip for the injectors if you set the pressure correctly.
The computer will compensate for higher fuel flow when running closed loop mode(reading the O2 sensor), basically when your cruising along.
If set high, you may get black smoke under heavy acceleration.(how do I know?)
One of the other members here(Optikal) is running a Crane #503905 with success.
That cam is plenty to support other modifications.
