leaking tranny after fix

I have one of the 04's that had a dealy in shifting out of park. They fixed it after 4 weeks of fighting with them and now the tranny leaks!!! They have tried to fix it 3 times with no luck Now Ford has told them that they are finding that some trucks have bad machining on the tranny and if some tape on the line does not fix it they have to put a new tranny in> Is there anyone eals having this truble

Could you get the person who told you that, to have them show you a written statement about it.
See if they will do it, they might tell you "that is what we heard"

Didn't you have this problem back at home, and took it into them before.
I am confused.
I thought that is where it started

Sorry i got this truck when I was down in LA. I came home for a short time and tried to have the dealer here fix it . They couldn't fix it and I had to go back to La. anyway so when i got there i went back to the dealer i got the truck from . They fixed the tranny delay but after they fixed it the tranny started to leak. They tried to fix it three times with no luck. Ford told them that they would have to put a new tranny in but befor i could have the work done I had to leave to come home and that's
where i am now. I also have to have the rear end rebuilt. I get a shutter when i back up and turn the dealer down there was ordering the parts but i had to leave so i have to have that fixed also. That's why i'm hoping its all on that report that Ford has on my and all of there truck or i'm going have a fight on my hands. This is getting old!!! I have had more things wrong with this truck then i have ever had with anything i have owned new or old

PS what is that report called anyway. I have 10000 miles on this truck now and i think i'm going to start either the buy back or lemon law process it's just been one thing after another and i don't need to go to a dealer to have something fixed every where i go its just getting old you would think for 45,000 dollars i would have a good truck OK I'LL STOP ranting now

Yes it does but for now i'm home and it should be for some time. So i'm hoping to get this truck fixed. I'm not going back to my home town dealer they did every thing wrong last time. I'm going out to a dealer that deals with more trucks and i'll see what happens.I have 10000 on it so far. It's time for It's 2nd oil chang also.

No sorry I never got it weighed. The truck was about 4100lbs and all her stuff was from a two bed room small house. Its only a 14000 lbs trailer. With the truck and all the stuff it felt heavy but not that bad and it pulled very good. Not to much sag in the back of the truck. If i had to guess i would think i was at about 10000 or 11000 lbs. 4100 for the truck 4800 for the trailer and 2000 or 2500 for the rest

?????

do you have a ranger, or a psd super duty

4100lbs? maybe as light as 5800 or so, but these trucks are alot heavier than that.

on to your tranny prob, i had the same campaign done on my truck, clunked in and out of park, and reverse..... cool part, i got 8 quarts of tranny fluid replaced when they did it.....bad part, and im sure it is unrelated to the shift servo they replaced, i just noticed last night, when in 3rd gear, climbing a steep grade, the trans is having big issues, starting to slip, and sounds like a bearing is going bad internally or something...very noisy, but only in third WHEN i am ascending a steep grade ACCELERATING. tranny gets rough, and sounds like a turbine engine.....my engine noise is unchanged, which is cool in my book, the thing runs great, and i wanna keep my engine i bought the truck with.....

sounds like the torqueshift has a few teething issues as well, i hope they figure yours out.

good luck!

The truck was a toy 4x4 xcab it was a guess on the weight. Same here with the tranny no 3rd gear issues so far but it does shift stang in all gears now. Ford knows about the leaking the dealer says . Ford told him to put some teflon tape on the high line but it did not work it only leaks when your driving i always have drops on the back of the truck when i get where i'm going. The dealer was going to order the tranny for me with fords OK. But I had to go home so i have to start over with a dealer here at home. Good luck to me
