Cat rattle

Both of the rear cats rattle pretty bad whenever my 97 F150 (4.7L 4x4) is sitting at an idle. It only does it when it is sitting stopped and in gear with either the air or heater on. It doesn't do it if you put it in park or turn the heater/air control **** to off. It seems to be the outer shroud that is on the rear cats that is making the noise. The shrouds seem to be vibrating. It can get pretty loud. I have checked all the clamps and the motor mounts and everything is tight. I recently replaced the engine and it didn't do it with the old engine. The new engine is running great and smooth. Anybody ever come across this problem or have any ideas?

If it is just the shield on the convertor that is rattling, and usually it is, you can get big hose clamps from your Ford dealer that fit around the convertor to hold the shield tighter.
