First off, I have a 95 explorer sport. I want to know if they are durable off road? What i mean by that, is the 4x4 on that perticular truck something that can be bounced around, or the truck as a whole, and not have something go wrong. Im not going to go crazy with it but i just don't want anything to break.
Next where can i get a lift kit to lift the truck up about 2-3 inches? I want it to have the ride height of the Chevy ZR2 Blazers, also i want to put 31 X 10.5's on it.
Why do i only get 220 mile to a tank of gas, and how can i get better gas mileage?
Also how many miles are the 4.0's with proper matinence good for. The truck has 111,xxx on it right now?
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-Nov-02 AT 04:18 AM (EST)]Any vehicle is good for many many miles depending on how well you take care of it. There's no reason why your X can't go 200,000 miles if you take care of it.
Change that oil, dude.
BTW, I get about 250 miles per tank and I have a 5.0L V8.
Search the forums here! These guys are all about the offroad capabilities of Explorers. With the people here at FTE, I get all kinds of help with my Explorer.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 18-Nov-02 AT 08:01 AM (EST)]You can fit 31x10.5R15s stock. If you want to go bigger you have to add a body lift or suspension lift...
31" tires... stock
32" tires... 2" or 3" body lift
33" tires... 3" body lift with a 1.5" torsion bar lift
35" tires... 2" or 3" body lift with 4" Trail-master or Super-lift suspension lift.
