Hello,
Just purchased a 1968 f-100 with a "bad" 360 motor. What informaion do I need to tell what other motor sizes will fit this truck?. The man a purchaed it from had it painted and new wheels and tires and his son blew the motor coming back from the body shop!
If it's anything like the '71 you could put a 460 in there and sit in the truck with your feet next to the engine and work on it.
Basically, a bunch of a lot of room. 'Course, I can't do that anymore, not since working on my Dad's '72 with a 360. Back then I was 5'11", now I'm 6'3".
Yeah I would suggest a 360 or a 390 myself, but I have very, VERY limited experience with working on engines. I know enough to change everything needed to run, or an alternator, and a battery...but not much else. lol
