surge when idle
To start I have a 90 351 w/ an e4od trans. When i bought it the exhuast had been dualled right after the o2 sensor removing the cat. I have a problem where the engine surges when idling, in all gear P,D,N etc..., if in reverse it will surge and die most of the time. when pushing gas no problem. I have read the threads where people have had a similar problems and replaced the plugs & wires, EGR valve, cleaned the o2 sensor. but before i start replacing much more i wanted to see if any one could help. Also when turning things on like a/c, lights, etc.. it makes it worse but I think thats due to the added strain to the engine. If anyone can help. thank you

Fuel regulator will do the same as will probably quiet a few other things but at least go tothe Zone and get your codes pulled for free. Or, like AYounngblood said, search and pull the codes yourself with a paper clip.
