on my 95 4.0 ranger the egr system tube that hooks up to the upper intake has a gasket sorta thing that seals them togather. i pulled it out becuase it sounds like there is an exhauset leak but i checked and have no leaks, i think air is getting sucked in there because the seal is bad. its like a little rubber ring that wraps around the tube and gives it a tight seal. anyone know where i might find a replacement?

Go to the dealer. It won't be too bad for something like that. I'm not sure exactly what it looks like, but it may be an O-ring, and any parts store can get you one. If it is more complicated, the dealer is a good choice.
