Today my alternator caught on fire. I was passing an Autozone and pulled in, they put the fire out and before the guy was done he said he bet it was the pig tail connection on the alternator.
My question is was there any type of recall on this?
The guy said he has put so many fires out Ford and usually it is the alternator. That can't be safe. Is there a recall? Or where can I get a reliable replacement? Is the problem the alternator or the connection?
