Highway Milage

Just got back yesterday from driving to San Marcus from Houston. On the way there I set the cruise @85mph and the same on the way back. Did maybe 15 miles of around town driving while I was there. I only got 15.6 mpg. Back in February I drove to Colorado and back and cruised between 80-85 mph and got 18.37 mpg. The difference though is now my truck has the dec flash and durring the February trip I was still running the original flash on my 01/03 built F-250 CC/SB 2wd. What are the rest of you guys experienceing on the highway??

That is very close with the flash; you could bump it by adding a tuner.
IMO not bad considering the aerodynamic prosperities of the SD at 85MPH.

I'm only getting 12.5 in town to start with.

Will find out more about hywy in a couple of weeks.

Think I'll call Motor Haven tomorrow about possible Preditor for the trip.

i got 18 driving to louisville doing 10 over the whole way. about 80 in MI, 75 the rest of the way. there is a dramatic drop in milege at 85 compared to 75 or 80. from the sould of it your flash is the culprit.

1/03 build.. Dec. Flash

Stock tune then.. Predator not installed for trip..

I got 17 @ 78ish MPH.. (F250/empty/4x4) C/control alot of the way.. With some round town (10 or so) and some A/C for about 1 hour of the trip.. Thought I'd do a smidge better, but is about the same as my old 150!! AND twice the truck!! POWER aint even close.. Loaned my Predator '65HP' tune to a 'freind of a freind' and haven't seen him since!! ..Dang...I wanted to run an MPG comparison to see the diff..

Motown, I get 18 on the highway, stock mode lightly loaded at 75-80. I get slightly more than that with Predator. I have pretty much given up on mileage. I quit worrying about it. I didn't buy this thing for mileage. I bought it for pulling boat, fun, etc. It gives me all I want.

If I was getting 18 on the hyway I wouldn't worry much either . Best I can tell so far is 15 w/no haul. Still not worried just a little astonished quite frankly. It is a diesel.

Will know more in acouple of weeks.

WELL............I have never driven it with out the trailer. When I was breaking it in, trying to get up to 1500, it was all over the map. 12.9 to 21.6 and I drove it all over the RPM range, up hills, like up a 11.5 mountain. Really worked it in many different ways.

Now to the trailer MPG I only have 7k on the truck now, all but 1.5k has been with the trailer................worst 7.8 45mph head wind from NM to CA three states worth…ug that sucked.............best 13.2. See gallery it is a big triple axle. Next run will be 1500 miles one way to Canby OR and back. With all the talk about these trucks and MPG, I have seriously thought about driving one tank without the trailer……………..just for grins and an MPG test.
However it is well documented here, I am not one that cares about mileage, (if it got 5 I would be bummed, my v-10 could do that ) I bought it for one reason, to pull with. Moreover, this thing is a Clydesdale with the spirit and heart of a quarter horse. I am very happy with it and all its idiosyncrasies, yes it burps, passes gas, rumbles and a few other things……………….scares the pee wad out of me when it blows the intercooler end off, turbo hoses are quiet compared to the instant delaminating of the cooler..........and they are very loud
I still love it.
