Broke down...

and traded my wife's Pontiac Sunfire this weekend- and bought a brand new '04 Explorer!

We really took a beating on the trade- apparently Sunfires don't have a good trade-in value- but I am very pleased with the new Explorer. Now we are a TRUE Ford family!!

Good news, stu!

I think the Explorers are nice, but with my family I'd have to get an Expedition.

My wife just loves her little Chevy Venture too much right now. But, I'm waiting...

Strange things started happening to the little thing, so much that she started calling it Christine - you know the name of that evil car in the movie?

Just biding my time...

It's just the three of us, but my step-son is getting too big to have to squeeze into the backseat of a 2-door car. That little Sunfire had quite the get up and go, tho, for the size of the engine. The new one has the 4.0L and seems to have tons of power, and the ride is soooo much smoother!

Do you know anything about the break-in periods on new trucks? We got the extended warranty, but the service dept tells me that it isn't necessary like it used to be. I plan on taking it on a trip later this week (1200 miles around)and don't want to try out the warranty on it!

I would just follow the instructions in the manual, stu.

You can't go wrong there - even though I have heard several different methods.

Give the "stu" test drive. That'll break it in just fine, I bet.

Yeah, I planned on taking it. I'll just take a real long look at the owner's manual. I sure am glad gas prices are droppin a little. The one up side to having the Sunfire was the 30+ mpg I got on long trips.
