clackity-clack!!!

I realize that noisy psd's have been covered ad nauseum, but I would just like some clarification on what is normal? My truck was deliverd may 14 with a 4/27/04 build date. I now have 900 miles on it. Up until yesterday the engine would start,idle quietly and then do the Dodge clackity clack thing when put in gear. Now it's no big deal to me how it sounds but yesterday I took it out for some errands and it was in the quiet mode all day!
I just would like to know how it should sound. Can someone please tell me what the norm should be.

It seems that someone posted an issue with theirs being loud one day and quieter on others. Seems it was a faulty EBP sensor? Do a search on EBP sensor and see what you come up with.
