howdy y'all! i just bought a 68 ford ranger with a few goodies and was wondering if i got a good deal or not. the previous owner told me it had a rebuilt transmission and motor (390). the tranny was converted to three in the floor with a hurst shifter, the motor supposedly has a high torque cam installed. a holley 650cfm 4bbl on a stock intake, hooker super competition headers and a high flow dual exhaust, and a detroit locker rear end. all this for $1600. theres just a few things i'm worrying about though... every so often i hear a lifter tick, and its running a little rich. but it doesnt burn oil and the temp stays a constant 180F. anyone worked on this motor that could give me a few pointers?
