No WY chapter so I thought I would check in here
Hey guys, there isnt a WY chapter so I thought I would check in here. I am in Cheyenne 16 miles North of the CO border. I just bought a 93 F-250 XLT that I'm going to be fixing up.
Anyone know anything about Ft Collins 4x4? I need a place thats fairly close to have a lift put in. Unless anyone here has a shop and works for beer and pizza

Hey Schap:
Welcome aboard. sorry there is no WY forum, but you know that we here always think of you as oyr Bro. Sorry I cannot chime in about the shops up North, it's been a while since I was on that end of town. I however, always work best with beer and pizza... Hold tight, I know we have some Boulder/Longmont folks who may be able to help out.

Unfortunatly I also, know nothing of the FC area shops but if you don't mind the drive I can reccomend an awesome shop in Denver. It's called Wild West Offroad. If you poke around on this forum page you will hear a lot about Rob McQ at Blue Oval Performance. Well, Eric, the owner of Wild West Offroad is a good friend of Rob's so he comes highly reccomended from a lot of people other than me. Anyway, Eric and his staff know Ford trucks indide out and drawkcab, anything you need they can do or get. Phone is 303-806-8933.

I don't have recent experience with Ft Collins 4x4, but back in the early-to-mid '90s when I lived up there, they were an excellent outfit. I bought a lot of parts from them, and they were always helpful and very competitive on price.
They continue to be one of the few shops around the US that is consistently rated highly in the Four Wheeler mag reader polls, for whatever that's worth.

A guy I work with had Ft. Collins 4x4 trick out his '96 F-250 4x4...Winch, lift kit, lockers in both axles and they did a pretty decent job with the prices and wrenching for him. So there's another positive comment.
If you're in Wyoming, you know about D's 4x4 in Cheyenne, don't you? They're on northbound Greeley Highway just north and off to the east of the bridge crossing the rail yard. Big sign, you can't miss them. I've bought a few things from them and they seem like decent people.

I have heard good things about Ft. Collins 4x4 but never have done business with them before. The place I go through is Mark Turner Off Road it Ft. Collins, they are right off the interstate. He hooked me up with a really good deal on some tires and got me a warrenty on one of my lift parts on my truck. I know his website is www.markturneroffroad.com.

Call down there and ask for Shane Schnider.

I've heard quite a few horror stories about FC 4x4. Supposedly the initial service is good, but anything goes wrong, and you are up the creek with no paddles, and a large hole in your boat.
Quite a few guys I went to school with had work done at Mark Turner, and I never heard anything negative. Nothing positive either, but that is usually the case.

I just joined this site a couple days ago and decided to look around here since I saw there wasn't a Wyoming chapter. I live in Casper, about 180 miles north of the border. I have owned and driven many Fords over the years and just bought a 79 F150 4x4 shortbed. Except for my wifes 92 Explorer Sport this is the newest Ford I have ever owned. I hope to have a lot to contribute here and to learn a lot here.
