Ya know what helped me when my wrist was acting up was a sort of brace. The "half cast" I was fitted with held my wrist in a certain position so that I couldn't move it, but was removeable for cleaning.
Another type of brace that will work similarly is a wrist guard that recreational rollerbladers use. Same wrist angle, same support, and it's held on with velcro straps. I have a pair, but I lent one to my mom for her to use. Tensor bandages just don't cut it for that kind of injury.
Something else you might want to try is "hot/cold." What you do is immerse your hand in a sink full of HOT (not boiling) water for a minute, then swap to the other sink full of COLD water, back and forth for about 15 - 20 minutes.
