If it is like the ones i installed, it is just a press fit into the turbo housing and can be removed by using a hammer on the bolt flange on the lower part of the downpipe. Wiggle tap, wiggle tap

you shouldn't have to remove it to r&r the clutch, but you will have to push the pipe out of the way to pull the trans. It would be easier to just pull the pipe since it's not too hard to take off once you take a good look @ it.
