I have a '99 4 Door. I've noticed that most of the time, when I get in & shut the doors, I hear road noise. All of the doors are definitely shut. No door ajar light, everything's lined up smooth down both sides of the truck. If I SLAM the doors, I get almost no road noise at all.
Anyone experienced this? Is it fixable? Maybe just an adjustment?
Can you tell for sure which door sound is comming from? If so, pull the inside door panel off and check for a spring loaded pressure relief trap door. Could be sticking partially open, but hard slam lets it close properly. Some lube in the right spot should help if this is the case.

Where in the door is this located? I've been in all 4 of the doors and never noticed anything like this....
As far as I can tell, the weather stripping is good & the road noise will come from all 4 doors. Since I rarely use the back doors, I noticed it more from the front, but I made a point of slamming both back doors just to be sure & it made a difference. The whole thing just seems really strange.
buddy has a "01 sport and on his truck you really have to give the door a good shove so it closes tight. so maybe they are just a heavy door and need a good slam to properly close. Maybe the weatherstrip is too good????
Was told this, If you close the door on a doller and you can pull it out ez like you need to check the lach on the body not the door. It may be worn. You need to loosen and tap it in slight, and try the doller again. The lach bar has a plaste round thing on it if that is missing the door will not shut right.
