I am considering either a Skyjacker 6" or a Procomp 6 1/2" lift on my 04 SD Crew 6.0. I am going front and rear springs and Bilstein 5100's with which ever one I decide on. The problem is that the Procomp is $500 cheaper. Is the Skyjacker $500 better?
Please do not buy pro comp.....their shocks suck, their springs are stiff and that line is sold at 4 wheel parts! That should be enough to turn anyone away.
Thanks for the replys. At this point I believe I will keep saving loose change for the Edge kit. It may be 2009 before I can afford it, but from what I've heard it will be worth it.
I was originally thinking of other lifts as I can afford them now and to go with the Bilsteins. I didn't realize there was as a dramatic difference in springs as there is.
I chose the Donahoe 4" spring lift for my 04 CC 6.0. It is worth the xtra money to me buy american. RCD is a little cheaper and their springs are made in USA also. If you don't care where the springs/lift are made, Superlift has virtually identical springs for even less $...(springs made in India or Canada) and they offer bilsteins. Also, with a 6" lift I would reccomend an adjustable trac-bar (pan hard bar). Good luck on whatever you choose.
I have the pro comp and it is really stiff. I upgraded my shocks to the 9000's instead of the 3000's and they are a little better than stock but not much. The lift is very tight and there are better lifts out there..
skyjacker has been building ford trucks for a longgg time! for a superduty I would go with something like a fabtech or BDS, I have heard real good things about them!
