Talking Cobra TB

Well the cobra throttle body is on the V10 and it runnsssssssssss much better. I have to say, for a 30 minute job its really worth it.

So now it's time for a bigger MAF, any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Red face

I used the accufab ctb96-98. Everything was included and NO adjustment was needed. Ive put a tankfull thru it already and you can feel the diff immediately thru the pedal. My wife drove it and likes how it gets to the growl so much quicker now.

But seriously guy this mod was too simple. You can tell how much your going to gain just by looking at the two side by side.

Im sure this will help in towing ma 30 ft 5'er. Dang thing weights in 9000k dry. So every mod that works is worth it to me. G'day.

installed the same 2 months ago. major difference. throttle response and power. have the brute force intake which also adds flow. the stock maf is only 3 inches round so its the small link in the chain. would like to get a granetelli 95mm but then would need a custom tune and the 1715 i have doesnt offer it. have the borla headers and cat back. next mods will probably be oil cooler/filter and temp guage.

I was running a Superchips 1715 with the ACCUFAB. Great combo when used together. Lots of power and MPG was hardly effected. I used a MAF but didn't see any +'s or -'s so give it a try.

what kind of maf did you have on? most large aftermarket mafs claim 40% more air flow. i see you got the zoodad and probably a kn filter. you figure thats got to help being you got that monster ctb 96-98. i think it needs a 95mm maf which is 3 3/4" round to utlize the size of the stock intake (3 3/4") and the large throttle body. imo. but then the 1715 would have to be changed for a custom chip. im thinking granatelli 95 plus the new diablo with a custom tune to go with the borla exhaust. let me know.

Yes I was using a Granatelli on my set-up. I was running lean as well with the 1715 so a custom chip could have fixed that problem.

What was the part # on that TB you installed, was it just the TB or did you need a spacer or anything.

Just curious, but what I have been considering the Accufab TB as well, and was wondering what kind of increase do you think you got out of it? Accufab's website lists a gain of 5-7 HP, but that is most likely on the Cobra. I would think if anything the gain would be more substantial on the V-10.

have no idea what the hp gains are but:

i have the brute force aem intake, the 1715 and the ctb96-98. put them on one at different times in that order. i have a 2000 f250 sd v10 5 speed. i had a 91 f150 5 speed before this and after i installed the tb i had trouble shifting the truck. with the instant throttle response i had trouble feathering the clutch. then when you do get on it it screams all the way to 5500 rpm. i was getting on it the other night and as i hit small bumps in the road the wheels would chirp and i was doing about 55mph. my trucks a work truck with tool boxes and ladder racks. so im always running heavy. also have the borla split side cat back. the tb has been the best mod so far.

borla headers in the garage waiting for a month. cant seem to get to them and its killing me.
