Years ago, one of our group buried his chevy in a marsh next to a lake. Before it was all over with, he said he would just settle for rescuing his tires and engine.
Stuck, yea, that was when this idiot stuck his Ranger so bad 3 other trucks couldnt get it out, even pulling two at a time. In his violent attempts to remove the truck himself, he snapped off a hub, blew a hole in his radiator, and aquired a knock in the motor. No moving this little Ranger buried to the doors. We took him home.....didnt stick around to see what his wife thought. So off to the farmer he went, whos land we were tresspassing.......ofcourse we didnt go with him.
Stuck, I saw stuck......thats a truck off the beach in Corpus Christi. Last I saw it......only the top foot or so was visible. That was March I think. I'm sure its all gone by now.
Stuck is everytime the one guy in our group who can't drive goes out with us. He burrys his Chevy Blazer every time. Last time it sat for 3 days and was finally extracted for $300.00 using a crane that luckily was nearby because they were building an exit ramp for the turnpike. They first tried to pull out with a 4x4 f550 dump but couldn't. Then came the backhoe which ended up digging down and getting stuck itself. Finally the guys building the highway said to come back after 6pm with cash and they could get it out. It took the crane about 5min to lift it right out. Maybe he'll learn to drive a little better. So if your ever in north-central Ohio and a guy in a lifted blue and silver Blazer with redneck stickers on it wants to go wheelin, bring all your straps and chains cause he'll be stuck as soon as the pavement is gone.
I'm thinking when you get the D10 stuck THEN you know you're in trouble.
my dad works in the gas and oil industry. He told me he saw a D10 get stuck once. He also said they just left it there because it was buried in over the tracks. He also noted that the only reason dozers are good in mud are b/c they did down to the bottom. However, when you are in a bog that is about 10ft deep, they really don't have good floatation.
I think it is cheaper to left the D10 there.. at $375,000, i think you'd have to get a D13 or something to pull it out??
Now your stuck when you burry your truck half way up the doors in mud, then burry three other trucks a 85hp 4WD tractor and break a tow truck! Been thier done that, $500 later and a crane got my truck out, that sucked!
i know a guy that drove a lowered s10 and he pulled one of his tires off the driveway at Ho's house and got stuck! that is sad!
stuck is when you get the D10 stuck a mile before you get to a point of recovery! stuck is when all you can see is the ball of your radio antenna! Stuck is when the military laughs at you cause they can't get their equipment in to fight a war much less pull your azz out!
When you are 5 miles outside of the nearest town, have a '95 F150 stuck, a '99 F150 stuck, and a '00 Super Duty stuck. The cop shows up with a Chebbey Tahoe because he could hear the '99 F150s pipes way back in town
BTW all three of these Fords were in a row '95 was taking on slough water, '99 was taking on water, and the '00 Super Duty was the "recovery" vehicle and was damn near taking on water after it sunk on high ground. Tahoe cop car attempted to yank out super duty, dropped to the frame, Case IH MX255 with duals in front an back was retrieved from my house to pull out the 3 Fords. I hooked my '99 F150 to the cop car with a rope and gave him a ride

Didn't cost me anything. Cops are not authorized to hook up to any vehicle to pull...... He turned off his video camera and did it out of good will. He was more embarassed than anything, and got the heck outta there after I tugged him out. He is my buddies neighbor and actually a pretty good guy, for a cop
He didn't mind that we were all drinking either! lol
I will talk to my buddy and see if he still has the pics of the ordeal, my computer crashed a few weeks ago and I lost all my photos.
