Well ive been a member of the 92- 97 forum foe a few years and now have jumped to the oil burner side. I just picked up an 04 regular cab 6.0 six speed today. And i love it.
Congrats - guess what ?!?!?
get used to it for a bit... break it in right...
THEN you can have some REAL fun with it when u do a few "tweaks" to it and find yourself grinning from ear to ear with what it can do !
all my friends were shocked. ive talked about it and looked for a while and i just did it. I have joined the ranks of my friends the tally is 2 cummins 2 powerstrokes and 1 duramax.
I am also a new owner of a 6.0 PSD and love it. It's a '04 Lariat SuperCrew shortbed 4x4 loaded with pretty much all the goodies. I am in the middle of the break in period with only 500 miles on it and just taking it easy, varying the speeds and easy on the braking. It will mainly be used to tow my bassboat.

personal preference ---- some of us do ALL the time... some of us only periodically... some don't feel a need for them...
I use them rarely, but when I do I say "I should do this more often " :-)
I'm new to Trucks, new to Diesels and new to the site. I let some stupid RV salesman talk me into buying a 32 foot travel trailer with my 5.4L EXPEDITION. Well, it didn't take long to figure out that wasn't going to work. At least it was my wife who said "You need to get a truck" during our near-death towing experience. I take delivery tomorrow of an 04 crew cab 250 xl. I got it really stripped down; it's an engine with wheels basically. Other than waiting 1,500 miles and "taking it easy" I'd appreciate any other advice. OH, I'm also considering installing a dvd player in the cab for the kids, anyone try this themselves?
