what 302 had a c6

I am wanting a c6 for my 302. what car or truck should I look for?

It doesn't quite work that way. There's no set in stone rule about what trannies came in what cars in what years. You can use it as a guideline, but there are no guarantees. What you want to ask for is a small block C6. The 302 shares bellhousing patterns with the 300 and the 351w, most commonly. A C6 with the different bellhousing pattern will not bolt up.

80 monels usually easiest found for a C6 mated 302. But I'd look for 351w cars and trucks for the C6 to mate in your truck. The books I've got doesn't list the C4 C5 behind a 351w. This link has some info to help.

Look at 300 trucks also, since they were very popular as fleet vehicles, they didn't get the C4 either(at least in the 80's)

I have a 1973 Econoline 1 ton van. It has a 302 with a C6 and a
Dana 60 rear end. I got it for free as a friend of mine wanted it out of his back yard.
