The Lightning rims will not fit an Explorer - wrong lug pattern. Any of the 5 lug Mustang wheels will fit though. I run Cobra R's on mine. They are 17x9 rims, and I run a set of Michelin 255/60/17 on them. Another popular size some people run on these rims on their X's are 275/60 or 275/55. You can run pretty wide tires, but it depends on what the inset of the wheel are, and if you run spacers or not. I personally do not run spacers - don't care for them, but some run them with no problems...
I am thinking of getting a set of the new style R wheels. They are 18's - 18x9 I think. I think they will look better than my 17's will. I like the look of them better than the ones I have now.
If you decide on getting a set, let me know. My best friend is a parts manager and runs [link:www.fordpartsfast.com|FordPartsFast.com]
He will probably help you out on some...
Great Thanks. Its definately in the works gotta wait till after Christmas though. When you get yours make sure to post some pics let everyone see how they look.
Thanks Again.
I am waiting 'til after X-Mas also. I am probably going to get them and put some good street rubber on them - then get some winter tires for the 17" I have now. Not that it gets bad here in Atlanta, but I hate burning a pricey set of 18" rubber - save them for some fun in the summer.
I need to get some pics up and finish my FTE site and gallery. The ones in there now are over a year old...
