tailgate piece...
i have a 95 f150 and i am looking for a piece for the tailgate. the piece i am after is the aluminium piece in the middle of the gate, with the black plastic trim that says FORD on it. is there anywhere online where i can find it?? i was pulling someone out of a snowdrift and had a cable snap (didnt know it was a cable at the time) and bust the hell out of my tailgate. any info would be great. thanx!

The aluminum center piece is only sold by ford. I recently damaged mine and the only place to get it was from ford. you may be able to get it from a salvage yard in your area the insurance co the was repairing mine purchased a complete gate with center panel on it. I rejected it because the panel had some inperfections and they had to buy new one from ford. that is the reason I did not do the repairs myself because of the cost for gate and trim panel (center)

www.car-part.com may help find one. The trim piece is only available from ford. Keep an eye on ebay. Ive seen them several times.

how much is it to get it from a ford dealer? our mechanic said it was like $325 or something like that !?!? he checked the salvage yards, but nobody had em. thanx for the info guys.

Be careful if you buy a whole new tailgate. The aluminum piece you are refering to comes on the XLt models, Make sure you are getting that piece with the tailgate.
