I have not done any mods to a Ranger or the B4000. I can't tell you how much more power you would expect. Call Comp Cams CAM HELP line at 1-800-999-0853.
Good luck.
Thanks. My truck will mostly be used for off-roading. Right now all I've done is add an open air intake and a gibson cat back. I also plan to add a diablo delta chip, but I want to get the cam first so the chip can be programmed right. Unfortunately, most of those numbers you gave mean nothing to me, since I don't know too much about cams. Which do you think would be better for my purposes. Oh, and I'm also thinking of changing the gears out from the 3.73's to some 4.10's or 4.30's (33x12.50x15 tires).
Call the Cam Help Line at 1-800-999-0853 they will help you pick the right cam for your installation. They are knowledgeable and friendly and the call is toll free. As to the breakdown of the cams I listed: 1) stock replacement 2) performance above stock.
When you pick a cam you must select the right one that conforms to your driving habits. However all of the High Energy line of cams are streetable. The Cam Help line will even help you with which gears for your differential to match it to your cam.
