2.9L power mods

Hey guys,

I have a '88 Bronco II (duh right) 4x4 with the 2.9L and auto on the floor. I'm looking to get more power out of the old girl, in the form of headers, dual pipes, ignition, intake manifold, etc. Does anyone know of a good company/website for performace parts for my motor? Any tips on this project are appreciated.
Thanks

JBA makes headers for the 2.9 I believe, check out Gibson, Borla and Flowmaster for exhausts. You can port and polish the intake, check this out. And our parts shop, motorhaven.com has good chips.

Heres a easy bolt on mod.Find a 86/87 2.9 and get the 58mm TB off it, bolts right up,you have to use you TPS.Be real carful and you can use the old gaskets. Its not a kick in pants mod but you get a little more botton grunt.
As far as the ignition goes the stock one will be good enought for the HP you will get out of a 2.9,Just get a good cap and some 8.8 wires and autocraft platium plugs, you'll have all the fire you'll need.

You should also ask about the chips at our chip forum, they should be able to give you some more insight.

Chipping the car is basically (usually) piggybacking a chip that has been reprogrammed to quicken shifts (with AT that computer controlled) Also it has the capability to be programmed to open or close the injectors faster or slower, basically override the PCM's factory programming, tuned for performance.

After a little more talking around, i think i'm gonna get the chip from James Duff. Aside from that, i heard Edelbrock makes an intake manifold for the 2.9L. If so, where could i get one, directly from Edelbrock?
