want the best function/sound
hello all, i just had a few questions concerning which exhaust system would be best (funtion/sound)in that order i might add, i drive a 1990 f150 w/ the 300/5spd, i love the motor and ive heard nothing but good things about it. also i would like to know how i can get the most pulling power out of that engine. i was told i could tow 3 1/2 - 4 tons with the right hitch but i want more(if thats possible) thanks again for any input

As much as I like my 300 I don't think I'd spend much time pulling that kind of weight. I don't generally use my truck very hard, just for stuff around the house and i has a broken leaf spring as it is. 
I did own a 90 heavyduty F250 a while back with the 300 and a five speed and swore I could about pull a house off its foundation.

Well, flowmaster is always recommended, but you're really paying for the name. Other brands you might consider are Gibson, High Output Turbo, and magnaflow. I personally have a gibson, it's great, almost identical to the Flowmaster 50 series. I wouldn't dump money on a flowmaster, get something cheaper. You can get great performance for cheaper. I might shy away from Magnaflow, just cause I've heard some things about their quality being sub-par. They're high performance, and sound nice, but they tend to fall apart, and rattle. I'm not makin this up, I've got a buddy who owns a muffler shop, so I'm hearin this all first hand. Good luck, and don't pull too much weight.
