Wide Body

Some times you see trucks described as being a wide body.

Where there some trucks made with wider bodies? If so how can identify a wide body?

I think wide bodies are comercial trucks say 1 ton above now I can say I sometimes see a wide body in a f100 from time to time and its me

Ha, funny.

I see ads for trucks from time to time stating f100 wide body. They look like any other f100 custom cab of that year to me. I do seem to think it's usually a short wheel base only that get listed as wide body.

Well just wondering. I'm looking for a 66 f100 and wanted to find out what the signaficance of that term was.

if it says short wide then i think they're just saying it's a shortbed styleside because stepside beds aren't as wide because of the steps.
