'94 explorer not starting
I have a 1994 Explorer that starts most of the time, but sometimes it will not start unless you hit the power distribution box. Normally with one good hit, it will start. Any ideas as to what might me loose in that box that would cause it not to start. Usually this happens on a warm start. I had the fuel relay swith replaced 1.5 years ago, it did not happen again until this past summer.

Does it crank, cranks but doesn't start, there are no lights, fuel pump diesn't work. Since you have gotten it down to a specific area, what more can we tell you. I would start by pulling fuses. With the fuse out, look for signs of heating on the terminals or corrosion. Look to see if the connector for the fuse is visible and at the same height as the other one. These snap in place and it may no longer be retained in the plastic. Pushing in the fuse may push down the contact instead of mating into it.

I had the exact same problem on my 92 and it ended up being the fuel pump relay. After I replaced that , no more problems. Even if you have replaced it before, they don't last forever...
