Head Set Covers...

Need a lil help, I just bought my first Expy and it came with 2 dvd screens, installed right behind of the head seat of the driver and passenger chair.

I really like the dvd player and set and I was surfing the to see if Ford makes head seat covers so I could hide the screens so no one can steal. I want to be able to pull the covers off to watch a movie on a long ride and place the covers back on when the car is parked. Does anyone have ideas for covers?

Thanks!

I would think that a good upholstery shop would be able to fashion something that would look good and not cost too much. Maybe a cap that slides over the top of the headrest. I have done similar things over the years and it is amazing how good and close to a "factory" look you can get. I would even say that sometimes it is better than factory!

Good Luck and enjoy your Expy!

Ditto that idea, don't know why I didn't think of it. I installed 2 screens also into my headrests. Never thought or got around to getting covers for them. If you don't already, get an aftermarker alarm for the truck. someone might see you go by with the screens on and track down your location. regardless of covers or not they at least know you have screens in there. It serves as a deterent if nothing else. And if they do try, hopefully it will wake you up and you can bash some heads in.

Vernon_04_Expy, I know what you mean, they be a fool if they try to pull that crap with me!! I'll be cracking some dombs if they even get close to my Expy! Is the after market alarm better then the factory one I already have in it?

Thanks;

I have seen some people use pieces of matching material with velcro attached to cover the screens..If you match it right most people won't give it a second look..It will just look like the back of your headrest should look normally...And dark tints help too..

I've never had Ford's alarm system, but I guess the question is does it have shock sensors? I can set the sensitivty so a minor bang on the Expy can set the alarm off.

I had a 00 Explorer for 2+ years and thought I had an alarm when it was just keyless entry. (Dumb a$$ I know) not that they charged me for it but I just thought for the price of an Explorer or Expy that should be standard.

Just for reference, my alarm has shock sensors, starter kill and a backup alarm so they can't just cut the wire to the battery and disarm it. You can also add a tilt sensor so if the level of the truck changes while armed it will go off. For purposes of someone trying to tow it or jack it up to jack your rims.
