I'm considering the Infinity Kappa 52.5i's in place of my 6x8 factory speakers in the rear mid panels, but I haven't made up my mind yet. I'm hoping that the component speakers powered by the amp will be adequate for now, but I have no idea how much bass I should expect. I like the bass but don't want to take up cargo room for the boxes or get anything stolen with the top off this year. What do you think? I may consider some small bazooka tubes.
You guys have been a ton of help. I appreciate it.
One more question, would you run the amp 2x120 to the component speakers, or 4x50 to the component speakers and factory 6x8's?
sounds like a pretty good set up. The infinity's will definatelty sound better than the 6x8's but I think you will still like the sound of the components in front and stockers in the back. Not sure how the pioneers sound, but my front 6 1/2's have really good bass, and all around sound. I run Rockford components in the front and was using some alpine 6x9's in the rear and was fine with the setup. Then I found some other rockford components for $65 delivered on e-bay and couldn't resist, now I have rear components also. From what I have read, the rear speakers don't need to be nearly as powerful as the front, because they are there to just kinda add background noise, or something like that. As far as running two channel or four channel, It won't take much power to start making the factory speakers start to distort so would amp the components only, then If you add some after market rears, power all of them. I have a very similar Fosgate amp that puts 50wx4. As far as bass, the bazooka tubes would work good. I run an 8" Pioneer tube with a built in amp and really like it. Its definately not gonna shake the mirrors off the car next to you, but it adds a really good sound quality to the system. I also like it because I go topless in the summer also and it easily unplugs and can either go inside with me or get locked in my storage box in the back. Hope all this helps, and if your interested I have pics in my gallery of my front speaker enclosures, rear speaker install, and the center cosole/amp rack I made.
Thanks for the info. I think I will stick withthis set up for now and see how it sounds when I'm done. If I come across a decent set of rear components then I'll add that. I'll definitley keep my eyes open for a tube.
