4wd lights blinking

4wd lights blinking
My 98 explorer sport just developed a problem.
After start up the 2 4wd lights on the dash will blink 6 times then stop in exactly 2 minutes they do it again.
It will not shift into 4w low or high, kinda expected that bet it hhas locked it out somehow.
Other then that it runs fine with good shifts and the overdrive seems to be working as well.
Any Idea what this is going to cost?
