1. i have a weird idle between 1500 RPM and 2000RPM allmost like a miss but not, i replaced the plugs and wired (MSD spiral core 8.8mm)
2. I have a check engine light but all codes read 111 (system pass) i have reset the codes (NEG battery cable off 5 mins) and still a that evil glow "CHECK ENGINE" i am thinking fuel pressure regulator or O2 sensors. i have 135k on the truck now and it runs fine, for the most part.
I am just a little confused about what the heck might be causing this.
also how hard is the 4x4 auto hub to manual hub change over? i ordered the parts kjust not sure what i may run into.
I have allready changed the EGR but what is the DPFE sensor and where is it?
also for some reason the TPS code was set off so for 7$ i figured why not change it
The DPFE sensor measures the difference in air pressure across the EGR valve. If it is not reading correctly then the EGR valve ends up opening too much (like in my case) or not opening enough.
On my '95 it is a silver sensor held by a bracket right near the EGR valve (the bracket bolts onto the valve cover). It has two pnuematic hoses and a pair of wires coming out of it.
If you follow the metal pipe that goes from your EGR valve to the exhaust manifold you should see one of the pnuematic lines (looks like vacuum hose). you can follow it to the other edn. it should be plugged into your DPFE sensor
The DPFE sensor is very easy to change, just make sure you don't get the two pnuematic lines crossed when you plug them into the new sensor.
