91 F-250 5.8 E4OD, as said idle goes up and down weather at idle or cruising down the road a 55. It will be idling just fine at a stop light then all the sudden it will jump up to 13-1400 rpm(good thing I was on the brake hard), when cruising at 55 it will jump 4-500 rpm. The trans is also doing some weird shifting stuff. No I haven't pulled codes yet, I actually have battery unhooked and gonna leave it unhooked all night to clear codes cause I know it had some in it from not having an O2 sensor hooked for a little. Going to take it for a little drive in the morning then check the codes, just thought I would ask if maybe something common causes this problem since I am not the greatest EFI (old man) person. Appreciate any thoughts and help

 

Sounds like the converter clutch could be acting weird.

 

Apparently nobody else has had these conditions but just in case someone does a idle search and has these conditions the Throttle Position Sensor fixed everything, idle is good, no more rpm changes without moving throttle and trans is shifting just like its suppose to.
