General all-terrains?

i was at a tire dealer the other day lookin at BFG AT's, and i saw the Generals. is anybody familiar with these?? if i cant get the BFG's for some reason i would like to have a backup tire. i mean, hey, ya never know. im still planning on BFG's....but any info's welcome.

They are an okay tire, traction and quality wise. Generals are put on a lot of new trucks. Not bad, not excellent, average to good. Since the price point is about $100 for AT Generals and they come with a mileage warranty, it is a good back up tire. I would buy one and not regret it.

I don't know much about that particular tire but I have a friend that works at General and he buys Cooper tires......

What about Goodyear?

I read a lot of these tire recommendation threads and find just about nobody recommending Goodyear; almost always BFG. Does Goodyear have anything to compare to a BFG A/T or Long Trail, or doesn't anyone recommend them?

my grandpa has some sort of Goodyears on his 02 chevy...and IMHO, they suck. we have lots of deep snow here in ND...and he buried his pickup in like a foot of snow...whereas i was goin thru 2 foot drifts with my ford and never got stuck.
