Please help me out. I can't find a book anywhere on my 69 F100. I bought this 69 F100 for my Dad as a birthday present. I know its a 6 cylinder, 3 speed on the column, but I was wondering what the original interior/exterior colors are as well as what the rear axle ratio is.
I could use some help as well. This truck was originally my grandfather's. I have never seen another Ford with the same faded green/yellow color. Any way to know if it was original? It seems to match the interior color, but the outside has some hand-painted brush strokes visible. (Custom Job?)
The VIN is F10YPE70492
131 2 F100 3 81 F 17
05000 175 4000 73
I believe it's a 1969 Ford F-100, but I am confused about the model because the tire covers say Explorer on them and they have the same yellowish color on them and they are not handpainted. Was the explorer some strange model of the F-100?
The beast is all original, down to the vintage AM radio, which I listen to when I cruise the backroads, as the truck hasn't been registered since '97. The engine is a 360 V8 2x4 with 4 on the floor, and I love it!
I will try to post some pics soon.
I have looked at this forum for about three years now, but finally decided to register and start learning from all of you experts. Thanks in advance - Jared
F100 with a 360, warner T18 4 spd and 3.25 rear axle, built at the Twin Cities MN plant with a scheduled build date of Feb 69. Your color is apparently Light Ivy Yellow and the truck was shipped to the Salt Lake City sales district. The Explorer was a promo/dress up package to increase sales interest in these trucks. They kept it as an option package with various levels till the mid eighties. Glad to hear you're enjoying it.
Thanks for all the info. I think this is the summer that I'll take it serious and bring this beauty back to life. I'll be posting elsewhere soon. Thanks
You're not much of an administrator. You shouldn't jump on a new guy because he doesn't know the rules. I didn't post here to sell my truck. I sell Mustangs for big $$$'s and this truck wouldn't be worth more than a couple hundred bucks. I was trying to help someone local out. If I wanted to sell my truck, I sure wouldn't post it here. It would go to ebay or the local newspaper.
Don't worry about me visiting this nice website much. Your welcome wagon is very rude.

The administrator, Mil1ion, sent me an email or private message that ripped me a new one for not following the "guidelines". Anyway, it just rubbed me the wrong way, because I am new to the site and I didn't study up on the guidelines. He accused me of some things that he shouldn't have.

Too bad this misunder standing came up as this is a neat site. I enjoy older Ford trucks so this a cool site.
