I was given a DuraTrans Over-Drive Shift improver for a product review. It works with any electronic over drive truck (F150, F250, etc.).
Basically, it allows you to program the shift points of your overdrive, a very desirable feature! It does not interfere with shift kits, chips, etc. I wish I could use it but they don't have it for my truck!
Twice the person I had commited to do an install with has not been able to get here.
So, if you want a free DuraTrans (designed by a team of former Ford engineers), let me know. You can stop by, we'll install it, take a few photos of the installation and then take it out for a test drive with you at the wheel. You can then give us your impressions of the product (for the article) and its yours to keep!
It does not require modification of your transmission. It is a small module that goes under the dash.
If you live in the metro Atlanta area, and can commit to be available this weekend, let me know and we'll make arrangements.
Ken:
Would this also work on My Excursion? I use it to tow the boat to FL from Atlanta. It's annoying when OD won't hold when going up a small hill on I75. I'll be going again in April, and would be able to give you an over the road eval. If it won't work on the Ex, I've got an F350 that it should fit on which is my work tow vehicle. Since I'm in Atlanta, this could be done soon.
