Painting a grill?
I saw a ford truck yesterday and the chrome insert which holds the ford symbol in.(the meat of the grill) was painted black. I really like the way it looked and was wandering if i painted mine would it last or just chip off. i have a 99 F150.

When I wrecked my old truck (a 2000 F150) it had the black grill insert, when I got it back it from the shop it was painted body color (silver). I liked the way it looked, so I didn't say anything about it. It should be pretty easy to paint if, but you will probably need to scuff up the chrome (or remove it completely) so the paint will stick. If you have any local salvage yards, you might get lucky and find one there. That would be less work, just my opinon. Good luck.
