I will soon be moving to central Oregon and need a new set of tires for my 2000 Ranger 4x4. I want a set of BF Goodrich AT TA, but they are pricey in the 245/75/16 size I need. Costco is currently having a special on Bridgestone Dueler AT's. Does anyone have any experience with these (or others) in a snow environment? I am concerned about snow and wet road performance. any input would be greatly appreciated.
I have Yokohama Geolandar AT's and love them... Best tire hands down for the price. They were about $40 less apiece than any of the Goodyears, Fire/Bridgestone, or Michelins and work at least as well, if not ever...

I had the worst luck with BFG's (radial t/a)on my truck, uneven wear, and burned 'em off in 50,000 miles.I bought Goodyear Eagle t/r for my next set, and was so happy with them I put them on my next truck, too. I think they may have discontinued them for some reason (stupid). I have so much better traction with these tires, and also way less hydroplane when I go puddle slammin' after T-storms! I'd go for the Goodyears. Good luck!
I used to run Bridgestone Dueller M/Ts but have no experience with the A/Ts. The M/Ts are great tires! They are excellent in snow and mud and never had any problems with hydroplaning. And as far as wear goes they were still on the truck when I sold it. They had about 35,000 miles on them and still had good tread. Thats most likely the tire that will replace the 31X10.50X15 BFG All Terrain T/A KOs that are on my new Level II.
I just replaced my OEM tires with bridgestone dueler AT REVO's. Great tire! Check them out on www.tirerack.com. Look at the ratings and compare them with anything else. The REVO's are top notch and not too expensive.
BFG's A/T's wear like crazy, they work good in snow, they dont clean out that well in mud. GO to the tire rack and check out Kumho Venture A/t's or M/t's. I think they look pretty sweet. Anyone ever try these tires? they seem pretty reasonable for price too.
If your lookin to move into snow country I would look into some Kelly MSR's. Best traction / snow tire I have ever had. From Eastern Oregon where we have a nice mix of Ice , snow and packed snow and ice.
There was some place that re-treaded tires and put green daimonds in them, not actual diamonds, but somthing like that, and they were pretty reasonable in price, you could get them in the bfg a/t's too.
When I worked at Costco in the Tire Dept, we sold Duelers, 3 models of BFG's, and 5 models of Michelins. (For truck applications.)
3 Michelin models EACH would outsell the Duelers, the other 2 Michelin models, and ALL the BFG's, comparing for the same sizes.
Those models were the LTX A/T, LTX M/S, and the Costco house model Michelin X Radial LT, which was basically an LTX M/S with half the siping. If I remember correctly, I think the prices for all 3 were within 20 or 30 bucks.
