Hey, we have a 94 Exp. 4WD, what is the best oil to use in it? We have been using 10W-30, would it be okay to switch to 5W-30? We live in southern South Carolina. We are getting ready to do an oil change on both our vehicle, but I found out that 5W-30 is better for my car, now we are wondering about the truck. Thanks.

I also live in SC and I use what Ford says to use in the manual: 5W30. Some people like to go heavier in the warmer weather (10W30) but these engines were designed to use 5W30, or at least my 5.0 V8 is. Check your owners manual. You might look into synthetic. I still use dino oil myself (Mobil Drive Clean) but I change it about every 2,000 miles. With synthetic, you have a much longer oil change interval, like 7,500-10,000 miles so you spend about as much money in the long run. Plus, synthetic is better for your engine. I have seen a guy on another forum get outrageous mileage while using a synthetic.
