anyone ever swap a c6 in for a 5 spd?? whats involved ???

You would probably not have a speedometer with a c6, unless you go to great lengths. Consideration of a kickdown cable also have to be considered. If your truck is new enough to do it right you should go with the trans for the year. My $.02 good luck.

what year truck? i swapped an aode for a tremic 5speed. not hard at all.
