If i put stacks on my F600 361 strait pipe how would it sound?
When i finish my ranger project with a 351W X303 cam full headers and no exaust how would it sound
anything with stacks and straight pipe will be REAL loud. but it depends on the diameter of the stacks. my buddy has 5" on his 7.3 diesel with no mufflers and i hate to say this but it is obnoxiously loud. i drove behind him one day and it was all i could to hold my ears and drive at the same time. i would say..
stacks=definately
no mufflers=maybe...get glasspacks or a flowmaster 40 si/do to be sure
with the ranger project i would at least bring the pipes to the axle then dump 'em or something cause if you run open headers you could suck a valve..
bottom line...if everyone had stacks...the world would be a better place hope this helps
when you run a motor open header or manifold.. the engine naturally gets hot and with all that heat and no pipe after them...when you shut the engine off, all that cool air thats around the collector pipe gets sucked in.. if youve ever welded and something has gotten really hot then cool it down quickly..it loses its temper and gets warped. and those valves will eventually get "sucked in".. CHEVY
not so much the back pressure the back pressure helps while the engine is running but pipe will save it when it is shut down.. in not familiar with the exhaust you mentioned. will it exit out before the rear wheel?
so does it disipate the heat throughout the pipe so it is lower all over? so when u have no exaust all the heat is in the hedder.
it is black 2 1/2" pipe that runs doen under the doors and exits in front of the rear wheel

yup. that pipe looks like it has a muffler right at the collector..at any rate it should be fine and you shouldnt have any troubles with it. it is gonna look good too..good luck with it!!
